Two Accidents 30 Minutes Apart Saturday Night Under Investigation

SPRINGFIELD, GREENBRIER TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Two accidents that occurred thirty minutes apart Saturday night in Robertson County are under investigation.

The first accident occurred in Springfield in the parking lot of Stewart Williams Furniture. MAP The call came into 911 at 9:48 p.m.. According to witnesses, the vehicle left Memorial Blvd and struck a parked pickup truck that was for sale.

Josh Stout witnessed the accident and was the first to check on the driver and call 911. Stout told Smokey Barn News that the driver initially was not responsive after the wreck but awoke by the time paramedics arrived.

Stout said the driver came up behind him quickly, then swerved across four lanes, jumped the curb and hit the truck. Stout said the driver was an older gentleman.

Thirty minutes later, at 10:18 p.m. another wreck occurred, this one, a rollover. The accident occurred on Logan Rd near Worsham Springs Rd. in Greenbrier.  MAP The driver was not injured and was seen walking around after the accident.

The accident occurred in the middle of a sharp curve in the road. The truck came to rest upside down in the front yard of a home. The resident of the home told Smokey barn News that crashes at that location are common due to the sharp curve.

According to police, toxicology reports have been requested in both accidents to determine if alcohol was a factor.
