Robertson County School Board Changes Last Day Of School

Robertson County students will have one more day of school this year.  There are 13 days added to the calendar for snow days. As you know this winter was a bit harsh and all the snow days were used up.

Friday, May 23 was originally supposed to be the last day which would normally have been a half day, but now Friday will be a normal full day and Saturday, May 24, will be the last day of school according to the Director of Schools Mike Davis.

Davis said that the last day of school is normally so poorly attended that they don’t run the buses but students are certainly welcome to come to school and get their report cards and say their good byes. Davis also said that report-cards will be mailed if they are not collected at the school.

We couldn’t find any stats on how often the last day of school fell on a Saturday but it was easy to guess that it doesn’t happen that often.

In the interest of human psychopathology,  take a photo of your children as you deliver the news that one more day of school has been added to the school year. The child/children with the most shocked expression will win a dinner for a family of 5 at the amazing Depot Barn & Grill, a $100.00 dollar value. Does not include alcohol, tip or tax.

This contest is for our Facebook fans only, the photo with the most likes wins. Your photo must be posted in comments below the post of this story on Smokey’s Facebook page, click here to see the post on Facebook. Please do not email your photos. Contest ends on 8:00PM Wednesday April 9th.
