Orlinda Man LifeFlighted After Pool Incident

ORLINDA TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Smokey Barn News has confirmed with officials that an Orlinda area man was LifefFlighted to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville after some kind of a incident in a swimming pool.

The call came into 911 just after 8:30pm Sunday from a home located on Roy Pearson Rd near South Lamont Rd in the Orlinda area.

LifeFlight landed at the Orlinda City Park. According to Orlinda Fire Chief Dusty Johnson Sr., when medics arrived the man was conscious, talking and moving a little. “We treated him like a spinal injury.” Johnson said.

Johnson said there were other people present when the accident took place and they pulled the man from the pool.

According to Assistant EMS Director Russell Gupton, “The patient exhibited signs of neurogenic shock when assessed by our paramedics. Knowing this, along with the length of transport and the mechanism of injury, we elected to activate Vanderbilt’s LifeFlight to provide transport for him.”

There’s no way to know the extent of his injuries without a battery of tests officials said. If the family reaches out to us with an update we will bring it to you.
