Some of us know what happened but choose to keep our mouths shut. Springfield police dept covered up what happened.
I knew all of them. All my life. I counted all of them as friends. Grew up with Jerry and Donnie.
Knew Paul from child hood. Such a tragic turn of events for all involved.
RIP.
It is sad ! Some of these comments are uncalled for! They didn’t deserve to die because they gamble so for people to post that are not good people. Cause each and everyone of these guys have family and friends that love and miss them.Just as myself RIP Steve Head.
Only a ugly person would say that about someone who is no longer here.
Ugly people= ugly comments
The world is better off without them.
Funny the paychotic lam but didn’t fall far from the tree.
I can’t believe that people, especially local people who probably knew all these men and their families could be so insensitive! It shames me to read some of the negative comments on here. The bottom line is these men are forever gone because someone or more than one person got selfish. RIP to all of them and God Bless their families.

I talked to jerry almost on a daily basis, He came to my work almost every afternoon. In my mind I liked him and was always happy to see him. If he was reliable for all this it would surprise me. No one knows what happened besides those 4 men and God.. RIP to all 4 men…
They ought to name a street after Jerry Lam or give a yearly citizenship award in his honor. Every poor person in town had a car he entrusted them with for a small weekly fee. I am sure all of these people had a good side to them. This really was a tragedy for all involved and especially their families who were innocent.
The one person who narrowly escaped death was Kenny Brown now running for County Mayor. He found steve head dead. Had he been at Heads house a little earlier he would surely be in a coffin instead of the ballot box. I bet he thanks god every day his life was spared.
Jerry Lam was a one of a kind character that’s for sure. I remember driving by his car lot the morning of the incident and seeing some of extended family coming out the front door looking very panicked and thinking something does not look right. I later heard the fateful news.
Rumors still persist this was a professional hit job, but I mean really the mob does not wack four people in a small town over such a large area and over the period time it occurred. I do think not there have been many hit jobs that involve three or four targets. If it was a hit team they were real pros from up north as these locals are way too stupid to orchestrate something like this.
Someone really needs to do a documentary or book of the incident and the investigation, interviews of those involved and family. It would be a very interesting subject.
I don’t think anyone knows for sure what really happened ?
Do they ?
There are 4 men and their families that have suffered for all these years .
My Heart goes out to the Families .
I knew 2 of them Jerry Lam, my cousins uncle and Paul Long, family worked for him.. I know what was said to cause it and wish it never had to go down that way. All I can say is if you can’t trust your friends not to cheat you don’t play cards and bet the family belongings away. Also if you are friends why cheat to begin with? If they had never sat down that faithful day to a deck of cards they may all be sitting with their families today…
I don’t understand how anyone could post ugly comments on this story. If you can’t be respectful, then don’t say anything at all. These people have families who love them.. and they deserve respect.
