Greenbrier Family Homeless After Apartment Fire Monday

A Greenbrier family is homeless after a fire that broke out in their apartment just after 2:30PM Monday afternoon. Fire crews from across the county were called to the two story structure located on N. Mt Pleasant Rd.

Firefighters did a great job getting the fire under control but the building suffered heavy damage and much of the family’s belongings were damaged or destroyed. Three people lived in the apartment including the family’s 16 year old son, all got out safely. There were several pets in the home, at last count they all seem to be OK.

For more information see Smokey’s full video report below.  If you would like to reach out to the family with support, a fund has been set up at the Regions Bank in Springfield under the name “Shatos Family Fire Fund.”  Or donate online here.
