Fire Destroys St Mary & St James Catholic In Guthrie, KY

St Mary & St James Catholic in Guthrie KY was lost to fire today. The church is located on the corner of 3rd St and Green St. MAP The church sits just over the border from Adams TN. The Guthrie KY Fire Department responded to the fire around 1:00PM Tuesday afternoon.
According to Brandy Trejo of Adams Tennessee who was there visiting her mother, the fire started in a building behind the church and began to work its way forward to envelop the main church building. Both structures appear to be a total loss.
According to Guthrie Police, there were no injuries in the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
