Shooting In Springfield

A man has been lifeflighted to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville with “life-threatening injuries” after being shot in Springfield, police say. Officials say the shooting took place around 4:30PM. According to officials, the victim just appeared at Northcrest Medical Center in Springfield with several bullet wounds to the abdomen. At the moment that is all police have to go on.

The LifeFlight helicopter took off from Northcrest at 4:45PM.

According to police, the victim is not talking. Police have received information that the shooting may have taken place near the intersection of Sleepy Hollow and S. Main St. in Springfield but they have yet to confirm that fact.

Police have identified the victim as a Zachary Joyner, 21, of Springfield.

At the moment Police are literally just putting the pieces together, as soon as we have more information we will bring it to you.
